Living in the Chaos

This painting is very different for me. Bright pinks and brilliant turquoise are not my usual color choices. But a painting of a long-necked woman has been hanging around my studio for over a year. Typically, she was hidden among the canvases or her back was to the doorway. I didn't want anyone to see a painting that clearly BORED even me. But I have gotten braver in my old age, and that means you try something crazy. You bend her neck, you rework the left side of her face, and you add a lot of color. You even suggest a second shoulder, because we all need one from time to time.
