Because of You
I begin by collaging pages from an old book onto the canvas, letting their history form the first quiet layer. Acrylic inks and paint follow, building slowly, transparently. With each thin veil of color, a woman with a long, sculpted neck begins to emerge. Her head tilts slightly, yet her gaze remains steady and assured. I linger on the elegance of her neck, shaping and emphasizing it with blocks of color, allowing the figure to reveal herself in her own time.
