3 Color Study
When I started to paint again, after many, many years, I only painted on watercolor paper. Many were ripped up and thrown away. (My level of frustration was pretty high. I wasn't thinking. I should have kept them in a collage remnants box.) A few survived, including this one. Framed in a thin wood shadow box, this follows one of my early themes. Crisp black pen lines, blocks of color, the suggestion of a shoulder, and for the first time, a bit of collage. I began to learn color harmony by limiting my palette to only 3 colors, plus black and white.
The paper is affixed to a board and then mounted inside a shadowbox. Please note: I framed this myself, so expect imperfections in the frame.
