Original Art
Stuff You Absolutely Need
Can’t afford an original piece of art?
Or worse—trapped outside the EU like some kind of geographical inconvenience? Fear not. You can still experience the strange, wacky chaos inside my head, now tastefully splashed across mugs, pillows, T-shirts, and hoodies. Same unhinged characters. Slightly more affordable. Significantly more practical.
About Me
I’m an American artist who moved to Portugal in 2020, leaving behind the chaos of the U.S. in what felt like a reasonable response to the political climate. I quickly learned that escaping one kind of confusion often means signing up for another—this time in a language I didn’t speak, among people politely waiting for me to catch up.
My work lives in the uncomfortable space between opposites: precision and control versus letting things go wrong. My landscapes range from meticulously measured beach scenes (yes, I own a ruler) to abstract places that care more about mood than accuracy. Strong women appear often in my work. Not all of it takes itself seriously, because neither do I. I make wacky figures where collage, ink, and acrylic paint collide without a safety plan.
Some pieces escape into the world on T-shirts, hats, and pillows—because art should be wearable, giftable, or something you accidentally nap on.
I live and work in Vila Real de Santo António with my wife, Denise, and our dog, Onix, who handles quality control.
